- A wagering requirement is how many times you must play through bonus funds before withdrawing winnings.
- From 19 January 2026, UK-licensed casinos cannot set wagering above 10x the bonus.
- Game weighting, maximum bet rules and time limits still matter when clearing a bonus.

Work out the total wagering before you claim: bonus × multiple. If the number makes you uncomfortable, a no wagering offer is the better choice.
What are wagering requirements?
A wagering requirement – also called a playthrough or rollover requirement – is the total amount you need to stake before bonus funds, or winnings from them, can be withdrawn. It is shown as a multiple, such as 10x.
How to calculate wagering requirements
Bonus amount × wagering multiple = total amount to wager.
| Bonus | Wagering | Total to wager |
|---|---|---|
| £10 | 10x | £100 |
| £25 (10Bet maximum) | 10x | £250 |
| £50 | 5x | £250 |
| £100 (Casumo maximum) | 10x | £1,000 |
The UK 10x wagering cap
The UK Gambling Commission introduced new rules from 19 January 2026. Wagering requirements can no longer exceed 10 times the bonus amount, and casinos can no longer offer mixed-product promotions that require you to play more than one type of product to unlock a reward. Before the change, requirements of 35x to 50x were common.
Worked example: clearing a 10x bonus
Say you claim 10Bet's 100% bonus with a £25 deposit. You receive £25 in bonus funds. At 10x, you need to wager £250 on slots within 3 days. If you play a slot at 50p a spin, that is 500 spins. Any winnings left once wagering is complete become withdrawable cash, up to the £1,000 maximum bonus win.
Game weighting
Not every game counts equally towards wagering. Slots usually contribute 100%, while table and live games may contribute a smaller percentage or nothing. If a game contributes 10%, a £10 stake only counts as £1. Some bonuses, such as 10Bet's, can only be wagered on slots.
Other bonus terms to check
- Maximum bet – Casumo, for example, limits stakes to £5 per bet while a bonus is active.
- Time limits – how long you have to complete wagering. 10Bet allows 3 days.
- Maximum win – any cap on bonus winnings, such as 10Bet's £1,000.
- Bonus or deposit? – whether wagering applies to the bonus only, or the bonus plus deposit.
- Order of funds – many casinos use your cash balance before bonus funds.
Tips for clearing wagering
- Choose low-wagering or no-wagering offers where possible.
- Play games that contribute 100%.
- Stay under the maximum bet.
- Note the deadline before you start.
- Never deposit more just to finish a bonus.
